MTG Hawke's Bay Tai Ahuriri

Project Banaba was on show at MTG Hawke's Bay Tai Ahuriri 

March-September 2019 co-curated by Yuki Kihara and Jess Mio.

MTG commissioned two new pieces focusing on New Zealand phosphate mining and fertiliser histories. Katerina also added a Cook Islands dancing skirt made of phosphate sacks by Caren Rangi linking this story to histories of Pacific labour migration to NZ.
